Student Organizations in the College of Agriculture

Some of the best memories of college life will come from the experiences and friends that you gain while in various clubs and organizations. Lasting friendships are formed and many worthwhile experiences are gained. There are many clubs/organizations, fraternities and sororities to which you might belong. You will likely want to join several. Listed below are clubs and organizations associated with the College of Agriculture.

Alpha Tau Alpha is an national honorary organization which promotes the highest ideals and standards of the agricultural education profession by enabling closer relationships with individuals who have chosen teaching or a related field within Agriculture.

Block and Bridle is a chapter of the National Block and Bridle Club which provides students an opportunity to develop livestock skills and to interact with others interested in the advancement of animal agriculture.

Rodeo Club is a local unit of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association whose purposes are to increase and maintain interest in the sport of rodeo, to promote close relationships among the students interested in rodeo, and to produce and N.I.R.A. approved rodeo which is recognized as a major annual sporting event at the university.

Agribusiness Club is a social and professional organization for all majors with an interest in agricultural production, marketing or agricultural communications. Activities include tours of local agribusiness and guest speakers from industry leaders.

Collegiate Farm Bureau

Collegiate FFA is for students who want to continue their leadership development while at the university. We are affiliated with the national FFA organization. Membership is open to all who are pursuing a degree in agriculture and/or were in the FFA in high school. The goals and purposes of the organization are to develop leadership, provide recreational and educational activities or programs, provide a service function to the Agricultural Education profession and support scholarly activity.

Pre Veterinary Medicine Club promotes leadership skills and provides opportunities for members to develop friendships with others interested in veterinary medicine. Membership is open to all students interested in a veterinary medicine. The club holds regular meetings, attends seminars related to veterinary medicine, visits with practicing veterinarians and tours veterinary schools.

Plant Science Club is open to all plant science majors (agronomy or horticulture). Its purpose is to bring students together for social and professional reasons, all students who are interested in agronomy and horticulture.

Delta Tau Alpha is an honorary society for students majoring in any field of agriculture. It is open to students who have completed at least 45 hours of course work, 12 of which must have been in agriculture and have a GPA in the upper 35% of all students in the College of Agriculture.
