Harvey has been actively involved in agriculture for almost 30 years.  He studied agronomy at McGill University in Montreal where he received a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.  He then completed his Masters degree in crop physiology at the University of Manitoba.  He was awarded a full scholarship from the Canadian Wheat Board and completed his Ph D at the University of Manitoba.  He has also completed an executive MBA program from the University of Western Ontario. 

After his formal education he joined the Canadian Wheat Board, an organization involved in international grain marketing. In 1985, after three years with the Wheat Board, he joined  Monsanto just as it was beginning to develop crop biotechnology programs. 

Over the past 18 years at Monsanto,  Harvey has lived and worked in Canada, Europe and the US and has held a variety of technology, commercial development and marketing positions.  He has been fortunate to visit and work in agricultural production systems in many different regions of the world.  He helped introduce the first biotech crop in Canada, Roundup Ready canola, in 1996 and participated in the development of biotech crops for Europe, Asia and the Americas.  Currently he is Director of Scientific Affairs at Monsanto.
